Wall Industries Announces New 2W DC-DC Converters
Wall Industries, Inc. announced the new RGW2 and RGUW2 Series of 2W dc-dc converters. These converters are available in both 0.74 x 0.50 x 0.33 inch DIP and SMT packages and have a weight of only 0.16oz. The RGW2 series operates over 2:1 input voltage ranges of 4.5-9, 9-18, 18-36, or 36-75Vdc and the RGUW2 operates over 4:1 input voltage ranges of 4.5-18, 9-36, or 18-75Vdc. These two series have 3.3, 5, 9, 12, and 15Vdc single output models and ±5, ±12, and ±15Vdc dual output models available.
Standard features for the RGW2 and RGUW2 Series include high efficiency up to 84%, low ripple and noise, 1600Vdc I/O isolation (3000VDC optional), remote ON/OFF, 100KHz switching frequency, and continuous short circuit protection.
The RGW2 and RGUW2 Series of dc-dc power converters have no minimum load requirements and operate over an ambient temperature range of -40 to +85°C without derating. The RGW2 series has a MTBF rating of 5,107,000 hours and the RGUW2 series has a MTBF rating of 4,615,000 hours using Bellcore TR-NWT-000332.
These converters are useful for a variety of applications some of which include industry control systems, telecom/datacom, wireless networks, measurement equipment, and semiconductor equipment. All models in these series are compliant to RoHS EU Directive 2002/95/EC and the CE Mark meets 2006/95/EC, 93/68/EEC, and 2004/108EC. Safety approvals pending for these two series include UL60950-1, EN60950-1, and IEC60950-1.
The RGW2 Series is priced at $10.75 for single output models and $12.00 for dual output models in OEM quantities. The RGUW2 Series is priced at $12.00 for single output models and $13.00 for dual output models in OEM quantities.
