March 27, 2012 by Jeff Shepard

Wall Industries, Inc. broadens its product offering with the new DCHBW200 series of dc-dc power converters that are designed for use in railway systems and other harsh environments. This series delivers up to 240 Watts of output power in an industry standard 2.40 x 2.28 x 0.50" half-brick package and footprint. The DCHBW200 series consists of 3.3, 5, 12, 15, 24, 28, and 48Vdc single output models that operate over 4:1 input voltage ranges of 9-36, 16.5-75, and 43-160Vdc. Standard features include high efficiency up to 91%, soft start, adjustable output voltage, remote sense, 2250Vdc I/O isolation, and positive remote ON/OFF control. All models in the DCHBW200 series are RoHS compliant and have UL60950-1, EN60950-1, IEC60950-1, and EN50155 safety approvals.

The DCHBW200 series of dc-dc power converters have no minimum load requirements and operate over a case temperature range of -40 to +115°C. These converters have a MTBF rating of 1,010,000 hours using Bellcore TR-NWT-000332 and 74,160 hours using MIL-HDBK-217F. These converters are also protected against short circuit, over voltage, over current, and over temperature conditions. The DCHBW200 series has several different options available which include negative logic remote on/off, terminal blocks, case pin, sync pin, pin lengths, heatsinks, thru-hole inserts, and DIN rail clip option. In addition to railway systems this series is ideal for use in wireless networks, industry control systems, semiconductor equipment, distributed power architectures and telecom/datacom applications.

The DCHBW200 series is priced at $89.65 to $116.95 in OEM quantities depending on output voltage.
