Voltaic Converter Solar Backpack

The Voltaic Converter Solar Backpack from Voltaic Systems, Inc. is a streamlined bag for commuting and short trips. With 4 watts of power, it will quickly charge all your handheld electronics. A padded laptop sleeve and sizable front pocket keeps everything secure and in easy reach. Two 2.0 Watt Solar Panels generate power in sunlight. They are waterproof, lightweight and built to withstand abuse.

The solar panels provide up to 4 watts total peak output at 6 or 12 Volts (selectable depending on charging application). Charge times are 4-5 hours in the sun will fully charge a typical phone, 1 hour will provide about 3 hours of talk time. The universal USB battery stores power for use anytime and is specially designed to charge efficiently from solar. When not in the sun, the battery can be charged using the USB Power Cable or optional AC travel charger or DC car charger making it just as useful on the grid as off.

Typically, the battery will be fully charged from 7 hours of direct sun, 5.5 hours from USB port on laptop or optional DC or AC. It has a capacity: 3,000mAhr or 11 Whr and provides an output of 5.5V at up to 900mA via a USB port.

The bag has a volume of 970 cubic inches (16 liters), enough room for a laptop and gear for a day trip. It measures 18" high x 12"wide x 6" deep (46cm high x 31cm wide x 15cm deep) and weighs: 2.7 lbs. (1,220 grams) including battery and solar panels. It is fully padded, dedicated laptop sleeve: Fits up to a 17" laptop (17" MacBooks and larger 17" laptops may not fit).

Storage includes one main compartment with 4 interior pockets, iPod or sunglass pocket, laptop sleeve and front pocket for charging and small electronics. Wire channels areplaced throughout the bag for cables and water bladder tubes. Built for comfort, the backpack includes high-density padding in the shoulder straps and back and mesh backing material for better air flow. The shell is made from recycled PET (soda bottles), which is waterproof, lightweight and UV resistant.
