Vishay Intertechnology Offers New ISC-1008 Inductor

July 25, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (Malvern, PA) announced its new ISC-1008, a surface-mount, wirewound, shielded inductor that provides high reliability and enables easy surface-mounting in close proximity to other components on the assembly board. The ISC-1008 is intended for use in medium-frequency to low-frequency resonant circuits for higher-current applications in notebooks, PCs, flash memory devices, converters, and other electronic systems.

A wide range of inductance ratings is available for the ISC-1008 inductor, with values (at 100 kHz) ranging from 1.0 µH to 1,000 µH. Standard tolerance is ±20 percent over the range, and the rated current ranges from 1,000 mA to 30 mA. The ISC-1008 measures 0.142 in x 0.142 in x 0.098 in (3.6 mm x 3.6 mm x 2.50 mm). The inductor, which features a ferrite construction with a magnetic shield, is rated for an operating temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C and is both 100-percent lead-free and RoHS-compliant. It is suitable for reflow soldering and provided in tape-and-reel packaging to enable automatic handling.

Samples and production quantities of the new ISC-1008 wirewound, shielded inductor are available now, with a lead time of eight weeks for larger orders. Pricing for US delivery is $0.17 per piece for quantities of 5,000 pieces.
