Vishay Debuts New VSMP1206 Z-Foil Resistor

December 26, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (Malvern, PA) announced its new VSMP1206 high-precision, surface-mount, bulk metal Z-foil resistor, which combines a high power rating of 300 mW, a load life stability of 0.01%, and a low nominal TCR of ±0.5 ppm/°C in an industry-standard, surface-mount package.

The VSMP1206 is a surface-mount chip resistor measuring 0.126 in x 0.062 in x 0.025 in (3.20 mm x 1.57 mm x 0.64 mm), with a maximum weight of 11 mg, and a choice of lead-free or tin/lead alloy terminals. At its high power rating of 300 mW at 70 °C, the VSMP1206 has a low load life stability of ±0.01%, and an even lower ±0.005% load life stability at 200 mW. The VSMP1206 has a resistance range of 10 W to 30 kW, and a tight tolerance to ±0.01%.

Available in waffle-pack and tape-and-reel packaging, samples and production quantities of the VSMP1206 resistor are available now. Lead time for production quantities is approximately six weeks. Pricing for US delivery starts at under $4.00 and depends on quantity, value and tolerance.
