Vishay Adds DG2000 Series Analog Switches

July 27, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Siliconix Inc. (Santa Clara, CA), a subsidiary of Vishay Intertechnology Inc. (Malvern, PA), announced the release of seven new low-voltage, high-performance, analog switches, the DG2000 Series, including a single-pole/double-throw (SPDT) switch that boasts a 1.6mm x 1.6mm package footprint. The new additions to the DG2000 Series are designed for routing and selecting signals in battery-operated and portable audio, video, and data equipment, such as cell phones.

Supplied in surface-mount packages, the new analog switches are available in single, dual and quad configurations, and are characterized for operation from 1.8V to 5.5V power supplies. The new DG2011 SPDT analog switch features a six-lead, SC-89 package, a 1.6mm x 1.6mm footprint, board area savings of 40%, a 1.8-ohm on-resistance and a charge injection of less than 10pC over the entire analog voltage range. The DG2016 and DG2031 dual SPDT analog switches in MSOP-10 packages feature an on-resistance of 3 ohms at 2.7V, a dynamic performance with better than -80dB for both cross-talk, and off-isolation at 1MHz. The DG2031 provides a sub-1-milliohm on-resistance of 0.75 ohms at 2.7V, matching between the two switches of less than 0.05 ohms at 2.7V, and a flatness of less than 0.2 ohms at 2.7V over the entire voltage range.

The DG2015 dual double-pole/double-throw switch offers an on-resistance of 0.8 ohms, a charge injection of less than 15pC, cross-talk and off-isolation of -70dB, and a 16-pin QFN leadless package measuring 4mm x 4mm. The DG2041, DG2042 and DG2043 single-pole/single-throw analog switches combining 1.6-ohms on-resistance, 3pC charge injection, and less than 20ns turn-on and turn-off.

Samples and production quantities of the DG2000 Series analog switches are available now, with lead times of four to six weeks for larger orders. Pricing for delivery in 100,000-piece quantities starts at $0.35.
