Vicor Intros MicroRAM Ripple Attenuation Module

September 17, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Vicor Corp. (Andover, MA) announced its new MicroRAM output ripple attenuation module, which combines both active and passive filtering in Vicor's standard quarter-brick micropackage to provide >40dB conducted differential noise attenuation from 60Hz to 1MHz. The MicroRAM is rated for 20A and can be used with any dc-output power supply having an output voltage from 3Vdc to 30Vdc.

The MicroRAM's closed-loop architecture improves the load-transient response of the power supply with precise point-of-load voltage regulation. The module can be configured for regulation control either by using the source's remote sense or voltage trim. The MicroRAM supports N+1 redundant and parallel operation with its integrated OR'ing diode function. It is available with a variety of terminations and mounting styles for through-hole, socket or surface-mount applications.

The new MicroRAMs are priced at $37 in OEM quantities and are available from stock.
