Vicor Intros 24V Input Family of DC/DC Converters

New Products May 28, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Vicor Corp. (Andover, MA) announced its new 24V input family of second-generation, high-power density, dc/dc converters, which are designed for communications, process control, defense and distributed-power systems applications. The converters operate from a 24V nominal input (with an input range of 18V to 36V) and have power densities of up to 79W/in³.

The 24V family comprises three package sizes (maxi, mini and micro) each offering output voltages of 2Vdc, 3.3Vdc, 5Vdc, 12Vdc, 15Vdc, 24Vdc, 28Vdc and 48Vdc. The family offers output powers from 50W to 400W. The modules incorporate packaging, a high-temperature rating, a wide output-voltage trim range, and paralleling for higher power and redundancy. The 24V input family is in compliance with most agency approval specifications, including UL, CSA, TÜV, BABT, CE and VDE.

Prices start at $0.45/W in 100-piece quantities. Selected units are available from stock.
