New Products Jul 13, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

V-Infinity LLC (Beaverton, OR) introduced its new VSNS Series of point-of-load (POL) dc-dc converters intended for a range of distributed power architecture applications. Available in 5 A, 10 A and 15 A versions, the non-isolated VSNS Series offers efficiencies of up to 94%, while operating within a temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C.

The low-profile SIP units are compact, measuring 22.9 mm x 13.9 mm x 8.6 mm in the 5 A models. Surface-mount versions are also available. The VSNS Series accepts an input of 5 V or 12 V with output voltages ranging from 1 V to 5 V. Trimmable output voltage is available via an external resistor. Features include remote on/off, output over-current protection and over-temperature protection.

The VSNS Series of POL converters are available now at five to seven weeks production. OEM pricing starts at $8.65 per unit.
