New Products Mar 25, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Tyco Electronics Power Systems (Dallas, TX) announced the JHW050xx Series dual-output, 50W, dc/dc converters, enabling communications equipment manufacturers to power the latest integrated circuits and digital signal processors. The JHW050xx Series allow electronic designers to change voltage levels to both the I/O and core of devices.

The JHW050xx Series modules are capable of operating over an input-voltage range of 36Vdc to 75Vdc (48V) and can provide dual output voltages in combinations of 5.0V/3.3V, 3.3V/2.5V, 3.3V/1.8V, 2.5V/1.8V and 1.8V/1.5V.

The open-frame design of the JHW050xx ensures high performance is maintained in temperatures ranging from -40 to +90 degrees C. An industry-standard half-brick size of 58mm x 61.0mm x 8.5mm is available in both surface-mountable and through-hole pin options. The JHW050xx series include output over-current and over-voltage protection, input under-voltage protection, and thermal protection.

The JHW050xx Series modules are priced at $73.50 in 1,000-unit quantities and $65.90 in 5,000-unit quantities. Samples are available now.
