New Products Feb 16, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

TriQuint Semiconductor Inc. (Hillsboro, OR) introduced a family of fully integrated, GSM, front-end modules for use in dual and tri-band, low-profile GSM phones. The modules capitalize on TriQuint's GaAs and SAW expertise, providing critical technology for the competitive, high-volume GSM phone market.

The new product family now includes a dual-band, front-end module (number 890024) and a tri-band, front-end module (number 890028). All front-end modules include the antenna switch, receive CSP SAW filters, low-pass transmit filters and electro-static discharge (ESD) protection, all in a footprint of only 5.4mm x 4mm x 1.5mm (890024) and 6.7mm x 5.5mm x 1.5mm (890028). The modules incorporate balanced output SAW filters that are externally matched to the leading transceiver solutions currently on the market.
