TI Presents OPA684 Operational Amplifier

November 08, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Texas Instruments Inc. (Dallas, TX) introduced its current feedback (CFBplus) OPA684, a low-power, wideband op amp that offers improved internal architecture, improved bandwidth versus gain consistency and improved distortion. It provides low-power, high-output, single-supply operation for DSL communications, studio cameras, broadcast video equipment, portable systems and a wide variety of high-performance signal-processing applications.

The amplifier uses an internally closed-loop input stage buffer to improve performance over earlier 150mA. The 1.7mA supply current is precisely trimmed at 25 degrees C. It also exhibits low shift over temperature and supply voltage. System power may be further reduced by using an optional disable-control pin.

The single-channel OPA684 is offered in SOT23-6 and SO-8 packages. The dual-channel version will be offered in an SO-8. The OPA684 is quoted at $1.29 in 1,000-piece quantities.
