TDK Innoveta Intros iQP Series Quarter-Brick Converters

July 07, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

TDK Innoveta Inc. (Richardson, TX) announced its new iQP Series of isolated dc-dc quarter-brick converters, including 1.2 V/100 A, 1.5 V/90 A, and 1.8 V/85 A output models with industry-standard pin-out (Double-P), which offer ultra-high usable current in tough environments. The iQP Series is suitable for datacom and server applications that need high power at low voltage. The converters combine Double-P and an open-frame, insulated metal substrate-based design, which allows ultra-high current while keeping thermal performance.

he iQP Series employs standard auto-recovery circuits to fully protect against input over-voltage and under-voltage, module over-temperature, output over-current, and latched output over-voltage. The modules cover a wide input range of 36 V to 75 V, and feature a wide output-voltage trim range of -20% to +10% for improved flexibility. The efficiency is up to 90.5% and power density is over 92.5 W/in³. The iQP Series is designed to meet the EN60950 standard for basic insulation.

The iQP48100A012V (1.2 V/100 A), iQP48090A015V (1.5 V/90 A), and iQP48085A018V (1.8 V/85 A) are priced at $95 for 1,000-unit quantities. Samples are available now.
