Taiyo Yuden Presents New CG Series MLCCs

New Products Oct 13, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Taiyo Yuden USA Inc. (Schaumburg, IL) announced its new CG Series of medium-high-voltage, multi-layer ceramic capacitors (MLCC), which are suitable for strobe and inverter circuits, base station equipment, general telephone exchanges and other applications in the medium- to high-voltage (50Vto 250V) range. Due to the dc bias of any capacitor, capacitance value can degrade by as much as 50 percent as the operating voltage approaches the component’s maximum rating. The new 100V and 250V CG Series offers dc bias characteristics that minimize capacitance loss in medium-high-voltage applications.

The surface-mount CG Series MLCCs provide a selection of five capacitance values in 0805, 1206, 1210 and 1812 case sizes. The series currently includes capacitance value/voltage range combinations of 0.1µF, 0.22µF, 0.47µF and 1µF at 100V, and 0.01µF and 0.1µF at 250V. Curently under development and expected to be ready during 2003 are capacitance value/voltage range combinations of 0.022µF, 0.047µF, 0.1µF and 2.2µF at 100V; 0.22µF and 0.47µF at 250V; and 0.047µF, 0.1µF and 0.22µF at 630V.

Now available (100V and 250V parts only), pricing is from $0.13 each in OEM quantities.
