SynQor Introduces 28V 360W Half Brick
SynQor has added a 28V output, 12.8A half brick dc/dc converter specifically targeting power amplifier designs, but equally suitable for other applications such as powering fan trays. The PQ60280HEA13 (open frame version) and PQ60280HEB13 (base-plated version) converters use synchronous rectification and SynQor's patented topology to achieve high efficiencies, low power dissipation and high reliability, in a single board, open-frame or base-plated package (optional).
The device has up to 3% improved efficiency over previous generation converters, reducing dissipated power by up to 40%. With an input voltage range of 35-75V, and operating at a full load efficiency of 94.5%, the open frame device can supply up to 270W at 55 degrees C ambient with 200LFM (1m/s) of forced air-cooling. For more thermally demanding applications, the base-plated option allows cold wall mounting or attachment of a heatsink to increase the available power to the full 360W rating.
The trim range of -50% to +10% adds additional flexibility for the user to adjust to their desired output voltage for improved linearity within their Power Amplifiers, and the device has a basic isolation level from input to output of 2250Vdc. Other control and protection features include remote sense, input UVLO, output OVP, current limit, short circuit, and thermal shutdown.
Sample and production quantities are available immediately with a stock to 8-week lead-time. The modules are priced at $97.00 in OEM quantities for the open frame version.
