SynQor Debuts HEA Series DC Bus Converters

SynQor Inc. (Boxborough, MA) announced its new HEA Series of wide-input, regulated dc bus converters in a standard half-brick package. The BusQor® HEA module can deliver up to 360 W of isolated power for use in 12 V intermediate bus architectures. The wide input-voltage range permits use in telecom applications that require a standard 35 V to 75 V input. A patented regulation stage topology enables ultra-high-efficiency of 95% at full load while maintaining tight output regulation across a wide input range.

The HEA Series accommodates a telecom input bus (35 V to 75 V), with 100 V input transient capability. The modules provide an isolated step-down voltage from 48 V to 12 V, while delivering 30 A of current with tight regulation (+2.5% over sample, line, load and temperature). The HEA modules are suitable for high-end telecom and central office applications operating from 48 V battery plants. The HEA converters feature a trim-down range of 50%, supporting a variety of intermediate bus voltages from 12 V down to 6 V.

The standard half-brick package has a footprint of 2.3 in x 2.4 in (58.4 mm x 61 mm) and has a low profile of 0.45 in (11.2 mm). The HEA converters come in both open-frame and base-plated versions with standard pin outs and a single-board construction. Sample and production quantities of the BQ60120HEA30 converters are available now with a four to six week lead time. The modules are priced at $96.30 in OEM quantities.
