STMicroelectronics Intros STTH Diodes

New Products Nov 21, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

STMicroelectronics Inc. (ST, Geneva, Switzerland) introduced a range of ultra-fast high-voltage, medium-current diodes, which are suitable for free-wheeling, clamping, snubbing and de-magnetization functions in power supplies and other power-switching applications.

The STTH diodes are designed for use in industrial, automotive, motor control, lighting and power conversion applications, which need high-voltage, ultra-fast diodes that will handle voltages between 800 V and 1,200 V, but relatively small currents from 1 A to 3 A. Such applications also need diodes with medium recovery times (of not more than 75 ns) and the best possible ratio of forward voltage drop to leakage current.

Prices range from $0.17 to $0.24 in quantities of 5,000 pieces.
