Sola/Hevi-Duty (Skokie, IL) introduced the new S5K modular UPS series. The S5K is scalable from 4kVA to 16kVA and can be upgraded in the field to either higher VA ratings (up to 16kVA maximum), longer runtimes or to add N+x parallel redundancy.
Features include scalability for capacity, redundancy or battery runtime; N+x parallel redundancy by adding extra control, power and battery modules; built-in intelligence for each individual module using microprocessor controls; multiple and simultaneous communication ports; variable input-voltage ranges minimizing battery operation to increase battery life; an automatic internal bypass for maximum availability of output power; continuous sinewave output; and power-factor corrected input that reduces reflected distortion and optimizes utility power.
