New Products Jul 01, 2008 by Jeff Shepard

SoftSwitching Technologies® (SST) announced the launch of its DySC Global product line. Realizing that industries employing automated processes continue to increase on a worldwide scale as they standardize preferences for power quality protection, SoftSwitching Technologies expanded its DySC® (Dynamic Sag Corrector) family of product to include a line of global models featuring what is described as very fast response times, small footprints, and an improved user interface. According to the company, prior to the development of the DySC Global line, global industrials had very little choice when selecting cost effective power quality protection solutions; the DySC Global line is said to provide an alternative to traditional cost prohibitive power protection solutions.

"Because doing business on a global scale means entering a highly competitive arena, to succeed in these industries you have to come to market with the best products," said Rob Loomis, President and CEO of SoftSwitching Technologies. "When talking about voltage sag protection on a global scale, the best product for the job ultimately has the fastest response time, the most energy-efficient technology and – most importantly – the lowest total cost of ownership."

DySC Global products range in voltages from 100 to 480Vac, and 1A all the way up thru 3200A. Coverage within this product line is available at the component level (MiniDySC®), machine and/or line level (ProDySC®) and even factory level (MegaDySC®). The company claims that this robust product range insures that the scope of protection is covered at the level required, without unnecessary additional costs. Like all DySC products the DySC Global line does not require energy storage like batteries or flywheels, which is said to make it an energy-efficient and cost-effective solution for the global industrial marketplace.
