SMART Modular Technologies Intros KM Series

SMART Modular Technologies Inc. (Fremont, CA), a wholly owned company of Solectron Corp., unveiled its new KM Series of surface-mount dc/dc converters, which use 12V input, provide 10A of output current and require 1/3in² of board space (0.4in x 0.9in). The converters are suitable for point-of-load by high-speed microprocessors.

Features include transient response times of greater than 300A/ms to maintain stable output voltage regardless of load conditrions. The converters also allow the selection of any output between 0.7V and 5.5V. Samples and data sheets are available now. Production quantities are expected to be available in November 2002. Pricing is $14 each in OEM quantities of 10,000. Product availability is based on a four-to-six week, build-to-order schedule.
