Series of 100kVA, 175kVA and 250kVA UPS

Acumentrics Corp. (Westwood, MA) recently introduced the Power Queue Series of 100kVA, 175kVA and 250kVA UPS. According to Acumentrics, this is the first full on-line UPS series designed around a lightweight composite flywheel energy storage system. According to the company, the Power Queue Series is designed to provide backup power protection for complete sites. The devices are claimed to weigh approximately 1/10 of a conventional battery based UPS of similar VA rating and require only 1/3 the footprint. The company claims the carbon fiber design enables the Power Queue to provide a large pulse of electrical power from a very small lightweight package. The Power Queue will be available for shipment in the second quarter of 2000 and the 250kVA Power Queue has a list price of under $100,000.
