Semi-Shielded/Shielded Automotive Power Inductors

September 08, 2016 by Jeff Shepard

Bourns, Inc. today introduced a broad new series of automotive-grade semi-shielded and shielded power inductor components. Bourns offers one of the industry's broadest portfolios of AEC-Q200-qualified products consisting of resistors and magnetics that condition and filter electronic circuits, and circuit protection products designed specifically for automotive applications. Along with the entire line of Bourns' automotive-grade components, the nine new inductor series have been tested and qualified to the AEC-Q200 specification, and are manufactured in facilities that are fully certified to TS 16949.

Bourns released six new AEC-Q200-qualified semi-shielded power inductor series: SRN2010TA, SRN3012TA, SRN3015TA, SRN4012TA, SRN6045TA and SRN8040TA and three AEC-Q200-qualified shielded power inductor series: SRR1050A, SRU1063A and SRU8045A.

These inductors have been designed to provide effective magnetic shielding with low radiation, feature extended temperature range (-40 to +125 degrees C) operation and offer cost-effective solutions compared to similarly-sized conventional ferrite shield inductors. These features make them well-suited for applications where low noise operating environments are essential such as driver assistant devices, information/entertainment systems, lighting as well as dc-dc converters and power supplies.

Bourns' new series of semi-shielded and shielded power inductor components are available now and are RoHS compliant.
