Schurter Presents EC Series Power Entry Modules

Schurter Inc. (Santa Rosa, CA) announced its new EC Series of power entry modules, which are suitable for higher power-consuming equipment such as CAD systems, office automation equipment, industrial workstations, servers, base stations, bar coding equipment and power supplies.

While only slightly larger than similar 10A-rated products, the modules feature a power rating of 20A. The EC unit is fully molded and is comprised of an integrated on/off switch and ac receptacle built to IEC/EN 60320-1/C20. The I/O switch is slim, two pole and pre-wired to the inlet. The device is recessed in the housing to protect against accidental actuation, and its inrush rating is 100A for 5 to 6 milliseconds. Filter ratings range from 12A, 16A and 20A at 250V. The EC Series accepts standard detachable power cords and rewireable connector mates up to 20A at 250V. An optional retaining clamp accessory prevents disconnection of the cord from the receptacle.

The EC Series is UL and CSA approved up to 20A at 125V and 250V, and VDE approved up to 16A at 250V. Pricing for the EC11 starts at less than $8 for 100-piece quantities. Delivery is from six to eight weeks.
