Schaffner Offers New IEC Inlet Filter Series

January 24, 2008 by Jeff Shepard

Schaffner EMC has introduced its FN9233 IEC inlet filter series, which is said to offer greater attenuation of 6dB as compared to the FN9222 series.

Offering high symmetrical and asymmetrical attenuation performance, Schaffner claims that the FN9233 filter was developed for devices and switching power supply units that require a high level of interference suppression such as in electrical, test and measurement, office automation and datacom equipment applications.

The FN9233 series, which are said to be based on inductors with high saturation resistance and excellent thermal behavior, are also said to offer exceptional conducted attenuation performance. In addition, an optional earth line choke enhances the filter’s performance with its ability to filter interference and reduce interference signals on the ground wire.

The new filter series offers a choice of output connections and features various mounting options that enable maximum flexibility for assembly and installation. This series includes snap-in versions (S and S1 type) and standard or wide mounting flanges are available.

The FN9233 is designed for a maximum continuous operating voltage of 250Vac, 50/60 Hz, and frequency range of dc to 400 Hz. The filter features a current rating of 1 to 15A at a 40°C and complies with the RoHS directive. In addition, the series is offered in a low leakage current version or a hot inlet version.

Pricing for the FN9233 series starts at $5.80 in single quantities with bulk discounts available.
