Schaefer Unveils GP-I-3000C Series UPS Inverters

New Products Nov 20, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Schaefer Inc. (Ashland, MA) unveiled the low-cost, three-in-one GP-I-3000C Series of 3,000 W, pure sine wave inverters with uninterruptible power supply (UPS) mode and a charger, which are capable of driving a variety of loads. The GP-I-3000C Series is available in two standard battery configurations of 12 V and 24 V. Output is available in 115 Vac or 230 Vac versions with power-factor correction on the ac input. Outputs are adjustable and fully regulated to 1.5 percent or better. Clean output power makes the inverters suitable for handling sensitive loads and for improving ac equipment performance. The electro-magnetic interference is minimized to have reduced impact on other onboard equipment.

All variations in the GP-I-3000C Series have a true sine wave output with a high-speed transfer switch, a built-in three-stage battery charger with adaptive charging technology, a secondary charger regulator for direct photovoltaic array input, a temperature-compensated charging voltage, state-of-the-art remote sensing, and an integrated low-voltage battery cutoff. Comprehensive protection circuitry is standard. Additional features include an efficient standby circuit and a built-in remote controller port. Efficiency runs about 85 percent to 90 percent. The operating temperature is from 0 °C to +50 °C. The design is rugged enough for extreme environments and well suited for recreational, shore, industrial, military, and general backup power applications. The compact module size of 350 mm x 450 mm x 730 mm accommodates low-profile, space-saving requirements. A simple mounting scheme and high reliability lend to the low cost of ownership.

Mechanical and electrical modifications to standard modules are available upon request. In addition, Schaefer can design and manufacture fully custom solutions. Pricing is from $1241.00 each at 100 pieces. Significant OEM quantity discounts are available. Delivery is 8 to 10 weeks ARO.
