Schaefer Adds 1,250W 6U Converters

Schaefer, Inc. has added the C3700 series of 1,250W converters that are available in 9 standard dc input voltage ranges from 10 to 800 Vdc, as well as ac input voltage ranges of 185-264 and 93-138 or 185-264 Vac, switchable. Three phase ac input voltages are also available.

An external power factor correction module is offered as an option with these 1,250W converters. Single outputs are available in numerous ranges from 4.5 to 800 Vdc. All outputs are adjustable and fully regulated to 0.2% or better (load) and 0.1% (line).

All units in the C3700 series have remote sensing, over-voltage protection, and current limit protection on the output. Efficiencies run up to 90%, depending on the input and output voltages. Operating temperatures available include -20°C to +75° C and -40°C to +75°C.

Units are packaged in a 6U Eurorack module for space savings and incorporate DIN 41612 H15 I/O connectors. Options include decoupling diodes for parallel operation, "ruggedization", tropical protection, inhibit, power fail/DC-ok, active current sharing, programmable and wall mounting, among others.

Applications include locomotive controls and communications equipment, fuel cell conversion and testing, battery charging, telecommunication systems, process control systems, power stations and automotive bus equipment testing.

Unit pricing starts at $1,370 in lots of 100 pieces. Delivery is 6-8 weeks ARO.
