New Products Nov 01, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

S&C Electric Co. (Chicago, IL) announced new 750 kW and 1,000 kW PureWave uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems for 208 V through 690 V applications. The models feature the same construction of the company's 250 kW and 500 kW systems, and are suitable for protecting power-critical users such as semiconductor fabs, pharmaceutical manufacturers, hospitals, data centers, call centers, universities, government labs, petrochemical processors, and a variety of other industrial and commercial loads. The new PureWave UPS systems can be furnished in capacities ranging from 250 kW to 16,000 kW.

The PureWave UPS systems are reliable, cost-effective, and provide whole-facility or process-wide protection. The units can be installed outdoors, resulting in low installation costs and eliminating the need for air-conditioned indoor space. A high-efficiency three-fourths greater than 98.5 percent leads to a low operating cost, and the no-maintenance batteries and comprehensive battery management system combine to produce a reliable energy storage system. The new PureWave UPS offers a five-year, non-prorated, battery warranty.
