Sabritec Intros New Line of ESD Filter Composite Connectors

October 05, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Sabritec (Irvine, CA) introduced a new line of ESD filter composite connectors for circular, rack and panel, and D-Sub miniature receptacles. Offering protection against EMI and ESD environments, the new connectors are suitable for power management systems, video processing equipment and military fighter jet applications.

The new ESD connectors benefit from a faraday cage, which protects the components inside the connector from electrostatic discharges. A composite material shell increases durability (up to 1,500 cycles) and is able to resist severe corrosion of up to 2,000 hours of salt spray. The new connectors meet applicable protection requirements of IEC 801-2 and MIL-STD-1686, and feature magnetic permeability meeting all applicable MIL-DTL-38999 requirements.

Available in nickel-plated and cadmium-plated versions, and with transient as well as EMI suppression, the ESD connectors meet all applicable military specifications and standards for materials and mechanical form, fit and function. All of Sabritec’s filter connectors will mate with non-filter connectors and in most cases are interchangeable.
