Pulse Debuts SMT Drum-Core Inductors

October 01, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Pulse Engineering Inc. (San Diego, CA) introduced its new PG0063 Series of unshielded drum-core inductors designed for portable hand-held devices and disk drive applications. Typical applications include hard disk drives, notebook computers and portable hand-held devices such as personal data assistants, digital cameras, hand-held web devices, mobile phones and remote controls.

The small 6.2mm x 6.2mm footprint and 2.3mm maximum height make the inductors suitable for use with designs having limited board space. The PG0063 Series features an inductance value range from 0.9µH at 3.5A to 900µH at 0.12A, and an extended operating temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees C.

Pricing for the new series in trays and tape-and-reel packaging starts at $0.09 per unit for quantities of 50,000. Lead-time is four to six weeks. Volume discounts are available.
