May 28, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Power-One Inc. (Camarillo, CA) announced its new RND Series as an addition to the One-SMarT line of SMT-mountable dc/dc converters. The dual-output RND Series provides up to 10W of output power from a 2in x 1in package, with an ultra-low profile under 8.5mm.

The converters operate from an input range of 38Vdc to 75Vdc. Models are available to provide 3.3Vdc and 5.2Vdc, or two 12Vdc outputs. The 12Vdc outputs can be trimmed to provide 15Vdc. Features include an input-to-output isolation of 1.5kVdc, output over-current protection, remote on/off, a wide output-voltage trim adjust, operation to 110 degrees C and excellent lead co-planarity.

Pricing for the RND Series is $29 each for a quantity of 100 units. Evaluation units are usually available from stock. Production quantities are typically available in six to eight weeks.
