Power-One Offers HHS05Z55 DC-DC Half-Brick Converter

Power-One Inc. (Camarillo, CA) introduced its HHS05Z55, a 260 W dc-dc half-brick converter designed for Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) power sourcing equipment and next-generation IP telephony applications. The HHS05Z55 operates over a wide input range of 36 Vdc to 75 Vdc to provide a tightly regulated 53.7 Vdc, 4.85 A output, at efficiencies up to 93%.

The HHS05Z55 integrates internal noise-filtering, an input-to-output isolation of 2,250 Vdc, and basic safety insulation rating to facilitate system compliance to the stringent requirements of IEEE 802.3af. In addition to interface capabilities of remote on/off, remote sense, and output trim, protection features provided are output over-voltage and over-current, under-voltage lockout and over-temperature.

Regulatory agency approvals include UL60950-3rd/CSA C22.2 60950-00, TUV EN60950:2001, and IEC60950-1:2001. The HHS05Z55 measures 2.40 in x 2.28 in x 0.42 in (61.0 mm x 57.9 mm x 10.67 mm).
