Philips Intros Power Trench MOSFET Portfolio

July 06, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Royal Philips Electronics (the Netherlands) introduced a portfolio of power Trench MOSFETs for controlling the speed and direction of dc motors. With several key features to enhance power-efficiency, including low on resistance for minimal power loss, the new MOSFETs are suited to provide efficient and reliable motor control in a broad variety of applications, ranging from electric vehicles to industrial robotics.

The new portfolio is comprised of more than 25 MOSFETs, packaged in the industry-standard D²PAK and TO220, with a range of Rds(on) options optimized for different 12 V and 24 V motor control applications. Offering efficient electrical performance, the new Trench devices can extend the battery life of motor applications.

The new portfolio of MOSFETs for dc motor control applications is available now starting from $0.35 to $1.20 for a 75 V device in quantities of 10,000.
