Patco Electronics Inc. (Titusville, FL) released the ZipCord and ZipCord Plus portable energy systems for the digital photography industry. The ZipCord lithium-ion technology offers improvements in both size and power over standard nickel-metal hydride rechargeable battery packs currently used, according to the company.
The ZipCord weighs 2lbs, 8oz, and provides 60Wh of energy in a pack measuring 1.6in x 5.6in x 5.5in. The ZipCord Plus weighs 3lbs, 4oz, and delivers 120Wh of energy in a pack that measures 1.6in x 5.6in x 6.5in.
