Oriental Motor USA Introduces the BX Series

July 05, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Oriental Motor USA Corp. (Torrance, CA) announced the new BX Series of compact, dc, brushless speed-control systems in two package configurations. The BX Series standard speed control system provides a 100:1 speed range from 30rpm to 3,000rpm. The speed regulation relative to load and voltage variations is 0.05 percent each. The speed regulation relative to temperature is 0.5 percent over an operating environment of 0 to 50 degrees C.

The addition of the OPX-1A control module provides a speed-control system with enhanced position and torque-control capabilities. With the OPX-1A control module, the speed range increases 3rpm to 3,000rpm. Using the combined OPX-1A and controller package, up to eight speed-control settings are available. Temperature regulation is improved to 0.05 percent over the entire speed range and operating environmental temperature range. The OPX-1A stores and displays a history log of up to 10 of the most recent alarm signals, indicating details of the cause on each alarm.

Three motor sizes are available in the BX Series, including a 30W version (BX230), a 60W version (BX460) and a 120W version (BX5120). The BX Series can be used with a quiet GF Series gearhead or as a motor only.
