NMB-Minebea Introduces the New SPS2156 Switching Power Supply

November 07, 2000 by Jeff Shepard

NMB-Minebea (Chatsworth, CA) has developed a new 200W power supply with power-factor correction, which complies with regulatory requirements for EN6100-3-2. The SPS2156 is a five-output, fan-cooled switching supply that incorporates a remote-switched ac outlet and an auxiliary supply, which can provide 2A in sleep mode, allowing rapid resume and wake-up options to be implemented for the system.

Low values of minimum operating load can be sustained, thereby supporting efficient system and power-management functions to be applied at system level. Advanced fan control enables system programmable fan-speed control, tacho monitoring of fan speed, fan-off and internal safety over-rides. An integral manual ac on/off switch is provided.

Pricing for the SPS2156 is $25 each in quantities above 100,000.
