October 25, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Mitsumi Electric Co. Ltd. (Japan) unveiled its new MM3204 lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery-charging control integrated circuit (IC), which features a power MOSFET and recharging timer, designed to reduce external component count. The MM3204 IC features a high-precision, constant-current/constant-voltage recharging control; a recommended power voltage of 4.6 V to 6 V; a recharging current setting voltage of 150 mV (typical) ±8 mV; a recharge completion detection voltage of 18 mV (typical) ±5 mV; and a pre-charge detection voltage of 3.1 V, ±0.1 V.
