Microsemi Intros UPDS3200/5100H Schottky Rectifiers

Microsemi Corp. (Irvine, CA), a manufacturer of discrete semiconductors and power management integrated circuits, announced two new high-voltage Schottky barrier rectifiers, the UPDS3200™ and UPDS5100H™, in a compact PowerDI™5 package. Typical applications range from notebook computers to industrial ballasts and numerous Schottky diode applications where density and reliability are the design drivers.

The UPDS3200 and UPDS5100H rectifiers are rated at 3 A/200 V and 5 A/100 V/low-leakage, respectively. The devices employ the PowerDI™5 packaging technology recently licensed from Diodes Inc. to extend its portfolio of high-reliability components for commercial applications among Microsemi's customer base and served markets.

In addition to doubling the power density found in standard SMC and DPAK packages, the new devices provide up to 50% lower thermal resistance in environmentally friendly RoHS-compliant packages that contain no lead, bromide or antimony. The package measures 1.1 mm high, with a footprint area of 26.7 mm².

The UPDS3200 and UPDS5100H Schottky barrier rectifiers are priced at $0.80 in 10,000-unit quantities. They are available for immediate sampling and volume delivery.
