Microchip Technology Intros MCP614X Op Amps

October 01, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Microchip Technology Inc. (Chandler, AZ) introduced its MCP614X family of operational amplifiers that feature a gain bandwidth product of 100kHz, an ultra-low typical quiescent current of 600nA and a maximum quiescent current of 1µA. With a typical power consumption of less than 1µW at quiescent state with a 1.4V supply, the op amps improve performance and increase the operational life of high-performance, battery-powered systems such as micro-power sensors, solar-powered systems and security phone devices.

Fully specified from -40 to +85 degrees C, the MCP6141, MCP6142, MCP6143 and MCP6144 op amps offer rail-to-rail input and output that allows the full voltage supply range to be utilized from 5.5V to 1.4V supply operation. The low-voltage operation reduces the need for doubler circuitry and the low quiescent current further reduces demand on the battery.

Pricing in 1,000-unit quantities is $0.44 each for the MCP6141, $0.46 for the MCP6143, $0.58 for the MCP6142 and $1.02 for the MCP6144. Samples and volume quantities are available. The devices are available in eight-pin PDIP, SOIC and MSOP packages and 14-pin PDIP, SOIC and TSSOP packages.
