MGE UPS Systems Offers New BOSS System

January 06, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

MGE UPS Systems (Costa Mesa, CA) introduced its new battery on-site spares (BOSS) system that provides users with fully charged spare batteries should their UPS system batteries weaken or fail. By having the BOSS on hand, users save valuable time and costs by eliminating the wait for replacement batteries.

Suitable for high-demand applications, the BOSS system features batteries specifically matched to the user’s UPS along with a built-in 12Vdc charger that ensures optimum charge levels at all times. Housed in a heavy-duty cabinet, the BOSS provides immediate access to spare batteries, ready for installation by an MGE field service technician.

The user-friendly systems plug into a standard 120Vac outlet to power the integrated charger and are equipped with casters for easy moving. The BOSS is available in a variety of models housing from two to 40 sealed lead-acid batteries, each with its own quick-disconnect. Available now as an option to any of MGE’s three-phase UPS systems, pricing starts at $680.
