The FE30D4HG3-F open-frame power supply from GlobTek is a compact and energy dense solution for converting 12- to 32-Vdc to 12Vdc and also serves as an isolation transformer for applications requiring extra isolation between mains and patients. The miniature 160 x 83.5 x 36.6 mm medical dc input switching power supply model FE30D4HG3-F is available in an open frame configuration with an optional factory installed perforated polycarbonate enclosure for superior isolation.

These 300W single-output dc-dc converters are offered with output options from 5-Vdc to 55-Vdc. The series has an average efficiency of greater than 90%. It also provides overload, short circuit, and over voltage. This unit is compliant with IEC60950-1 for ITE equipment and 60601-1 for medical and healthcare applications. Medical units are certified 2xMOOP (means of operator protection) which refers to two independent systems of insulation protecting the patient from dangerous voltages. A single insulating component can get this rating based on extensive testing.
