MCG Surge Protection Intros LS Series Surge Protectors

MCG Surge Protection Inc. (Deer Park, NY) introduced the new LS Series of ac power line surge protectors for main and branch panel applications. The new protectors offer an array of standard features and a variety of mix-and-match options, enabling the user to customize the unit and pay only for what is actually needed. There are over 120 different configurations possible. The protectors are available in 100 kA, 200 kA, 300 kA, and 560 kA versions.

Standard features include 40 kA MOVs, redundant surge paths per phase, LED diagnostics, easy application upgrade of motherboard assembly, field-replaceable protection modules, NEMA 4 enclosures, and EMI/RFI filtering. Per the application, the user can add any or all of the following options: audible alarm with mute, transient event counter, internal disconnect switch, remote relay, NEMA 4X SS enclosure, and the company's proprietary Micro-Z low-impedance connection cable with 3/4 in compression connector.

All units are UL-1449 listed, NEMA LS-1 compliant, and come with a 10-year, no-nonsense warranty, and a lifetime warranty on the protection modules. The unit is available to protect 120 Vac to 480 Vac, 1 ph to 3 ph, wye and delta. Prices start at $2,200, and delivery is from stock. The unit is covered by a no-nonsense 10-year warranty.
