MCG Surge Protection Introduces DC Protection to 600V

New Products Aug 18, 2011 by Jeff Shepard

MCG Surge Protection introduced the DCP-90 dc protector designed to protect dc powered equipment, such as inverters and charge controllers used in photovoltaic systems, from damage caused by lightning. The units utilize high-energy metal oxide varistors and specialized fuses optimized to conduct transient current without opening. The unit is dual redundant and has status indicators on the front panel. Its small size makes it well suited for use in tight cabinets.

Rated at 160kA, the unit protects all modes. The DCP-90 is available in various operating voltages so it can be customized to the customer’s application. The units have a NEMA 1 steel enclosure; dimensions of 7.25 x 4.25 x 2.75" (184 x 108 x 70mm); and mounting of 6.5 x 3.5"/.22" ID – 4 holes (165 x 89mm/5.6 ID – 4 holes).

Prices start at $ 550 and delivery is from stock.
