Matsushita Unveils New ECREN Series of Capacitors
Matsushita Electronic Components Co. Ltd. (Japan) announced the ECREN Series of miniature, thin, lead-free, adjustable, ceramic capacitors that exhibit high heat resistance enabling reflow-soldering. Applications include communication devices such as wireless phones and pagers, and A/V appliances such as television receivers, VCRs and car audio systems.
The capacitors feature dimensions measuring 3.2mm x 4.5mm x 1.9mm. Their high heat resistance is due to the use of a heat-proof resin. They are rated at 100Vdc and operate from -25 to +85 degrees C. They exhibit an insulation resistance of 1 gigaohm (minimum) at 100Vdc (minimum), and a dielectric strength of 220Vdc.
The ECREN003A11 offers 1.7pF to 3pF capacitance; the ECREN006A11 offers 2.5pF to 6pF capacitance; and the ECREN010C11 offers 3.5pF to 10pF capacitance. These three models provide a Q value of 500. The ECREN020E11 has capacitance values ranging from 6pF to 20pF with a Q value of 300.
