LTC Presents New LTC1603 16-Bit ADC

July 22, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Linear Technology Corp. (LTC, Milpitas, CA) introduced the LTC1603, a 250ksps, 16-bit, analog-to-digital converter (ADC). It combines ac and dc performance (90dB SNR and ±3LSB INL) at low cost. The ADC offers a ±2.5V input range, precision reference and trimmed internal conversion clock. The LTC1603 is suitable for a wide array of precision applications, including industrial process control, medical data acquisition, and instrumentation where a bipolar input range, high-resolution and dynamic range are essential.

The LTC1603 accepts input signals between ±5V and has a flexible digital output supply pin that allows the part to interface with 3V logic. This enables the LTC1603 to work with a variety of DSPs, FPGAs and microprocessors. The LTC1603 is available in the 36-pin SSOP package and has a pin-compatible upgrade path to 333ksps and 500ksps ADCs.

Specified for both the commercial and industrial temperature ranges, pricing begins at $9.95 each in 1,000-piece quantities.
