Lambda Electronics Intros PSS Series DC-DC Converters

Lambda Electronics Inc. (San Diego, CA) introduced an ultra-compact, lightweight, RoHS compliant family of dc-dc converters, the new PSS 1.5 W to 10 W converters, which are designed for use in a number of applications, ranging from factory automation to communications equipment.

The Lambda PSS Series is comprised of 48 models, with power ratings of 1.5 W, 3 W, 6 W and 10 W; each power rating can be supplied with a choice of 5 V, 12 V, 24 V and 48 V nominal input voltages, and with a 3.3 V, 5 V or 12 V outputs. The four compact package sizes measure from 0.79 in x 0.63 in x 0.31 in (1.5 W models) to 1.61 in x 1.02 in x 0.31 in (10 W models).

A unique ventilated case gives the series a low weight of 4 g for the 1.5 W models and 14 g for the 10 W units. The PSS Series operate from -40 °C to +85 °C full load with an airflow of 1 m/sec. Input-to-output isolation is 500 Vac. In addition to being RoHS-compliant, all models conform to UL60950-1, CSA 60950-1 and EN60950-1 standards.
