Jenn Fu Electronics Debuts MEC Series Capacitors

April 03, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Jenn Fu Electronics Corp. (Taiwan) announced its new MEC Series of film capacitors, which exhibit low self-inductance and are suitable for filtering, bypass, coupling/decoupling, and timing circuits in telecom and datacom applications. The devices feature a metallized polyester dielectric encapsulated in a flame-retardant plastic case, sealed with epoxy resin.

The MEC Series are available in capacitance values of 0.017µF to 6.8µF with ±5 percent, ±10 percent or ±20 percent tolerance. The devices also offer voltage ratings of 100Vdc, 250Vdc, 400Vdc and 630Vdc and are able to withstand 1.75 times their rated voltage for up to 5s. The capacitors have a dissipation factor of 0.01 and are designed to operate over the -40°C to +105°C temperature range.
