Isolated 8:1 Input Voltage Range DC-DC Converters

GAPTEC Electronic presents the new 20DBW8_2405S1.5 series in a compact industrial design. This new series offers an ultra-wide input voltage range of 6- to 50-Vdc (nominal input is 24Vdc) in a compact design with an output of 5Vdc at 4000mA. Rated for up to 20 Watts of power in a working temperature range of -40 to + 85 degrees C (with derating dependent on the operating input voltage range) these dc-dc converters deliver space-saving and high performance.

With a compact industry design 50.8mm x 40.64mm (2" x 1.6"), and weighing 40 grams, this high-performance dc-dc converter finds its place on the PCB in a range of applications including fields such as industrial control, electric power, instruments and communication. This new series offers 1.5kVdc insulation includes short-circuit protected (hiccup, continuous, automatic recovery) and meets CISPR22/EN55022 CLASS A.

Other features of this 20DBW8 series are: an input under voltage protection, six-sided shielding, overvoltage protection and overcurrent protection. The efficiency of this dc-dc converter is up to 82%. In addition, this series is RoHS compliant and has a very low idle current consumption (0.4W). GAPTEC Electronic guarantees very short delivery times.

This series of products using reduced frequency technology, the switching frequency is 300kHz at full load. When the load is reduced to below 50% the switching frequency decreases with decreasing load. With an MTBF of one million hours, the product warranty is 3 years.
