International Rectifier Corp. (IR, El Segundo, CA) introduced its new 500V L Series HEXFET® power MOSFETs designed for zero-voltage switching (ZVS) power supplies in telecommunications and other high-end switch-mode power supplies. The new L Series MOSFETs minimize MOSFET reverse-recovery failure at light load when used in ZVS circuits.
The new ZVS-specific MOSFETs have an up to 70-percent reduction in diode reverse-recovery time, or 250ns, compared to standard devices. The new devices also demonstrate over 70-percent reduction in diode reverse-recovery charge, reducing switching losses, and have over three times better diode peak-recovery immunity compared to standard devices.
The new L Series HEXFET MOSFETs for ZVS applications are available immediately. Pricing begins at $1.65 each for the IRFB17N50L in 10,000-unit quantities.
