Intersil Unveils ISL84516 and ISL84517 Switches

August 13, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Intersil Corp. (Irvine, CA) announced two new additions to its MightyMUX high-performance analog switch line, the ISL84516 and the ISL84517. Both switches are single-pole, single-throw (SPST) configured and operate from a ±1.5V to ±6V dual-polarity supply. The ISL84516 has normally open contacts while the ISL84517 has normally closed contacts.

Targeted applications include portable battery-powered equipment and high-precision equipment used for medical, communications, multimedia and testing. Low leakage currents (1nA maximum) lengthen hold times in sample-and-hold-circuits, and fast switching speeds (tON = 40ns, tOFF = 30ns) reduce propagation delay in timing sensitive applications. The switches offer minimal charge injection (10pC) to maximize signal integrity.

Products are available now in eight-lead SOIC, five-lead SOT-23, and tape-and-reel packages. Pricing is $0.55 for the ISL84516IB/ISL84517IB, and $0.56 for the ISL84516IH-T/ISL84517IH-T.
