Intersil Intros ISL83699 DPDT Analog Switch

September 15, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Intersil Corp. (Milpitas, CA) announced its new ISL83699, a bi-directional, dual double-pole/double-throw (DPDT) analog switch that offers switching capability from a single 1.65 V to 3.6 V supply. The ISL83699 is a true bi-directional switch with less than 0.5 ohms of resistance over the full input signal range. It operates from a nominal single 3.3 V supply and comes in TSSOP and ultra-small QFN packaging for space-constrained applications such as hand-held and cell phone products.

The ISL83699 is well suited for portable battery-powered equipment due to its low operating supply voltage (1.65 V to 3.6 V), low power consumption (2.7 µW maximum), low leakage currents (45 nA maximum), and tiny QFN and TSSOP packages. The ISL83699 is built in an advanced sub-micron CMOS process and has up to 9 kV of ESD resistance. The ISL83699 is a guaranteed break-before-make dual DPDT switch. When operated from a 3.3 V supply, the device has a typical R(ON) flatness of 0.06 ohms, making it suitable for low distortion audio paths such as in MP3 players in cell phones, and CD audio devices.

The ISL83699 is available now. Pricing in 100-unit to 999-unit quantities is $1.25 for TSSOP packaging and $1.30 in small QFN packaging. Pricing is available upon request for tape-and-reel and lead-free packaging.
